Laser Rejuvenation

Laser treatments cannot be administered to tanned skin. To speed the fading of a tan, laser rejuvenation / microdermabrasion treatments are ideal. Microdermabrasion results are usually immediate and noticeable. Fine lines, enlarged or clogged pores, mild acne and complexion issues, and a host of other skin problems can be treated with microdermabrasion. In addition, most patients experience dramatic improvements in the color, tone and texture of treated areas.

The body will produce new layers of skin containing higher levels of elastin and collagen. This, in turn, improves the complexion and gives the skin a more radiant, vibrant glow. Our aestheticians uses Silkpeel for these treatments. With Silkpeel a controlled vacuum pressure is used to pull skin into the chamber, allowing the diamond abrasive tip to very consistently remove the stratum corneum, also driving a therapeutically designed topical solution deep into the skin, right down to the dermal junction where the skin cells are regenerating.

If budget or skin sensitivity are concerns for you, chemical peels can be an effective option. Peels are more superficial and therefore take longer to achieve desired results. But they are a good option for those concerned more with budget than speed of results. They’re also an alternative for those with skin too sensitive for microderm.

Finally, the mildest approach to exfoliation is topical treatment such as alpha-hydroxy acid, beta-hydroxy acid, and tretinoin. Dr. Atkins will do an assessment of your skin type and issues, lifestyle, budget and desired outcomes to determine your ideal treatment plan.
