Look and Feel Your Best With Facial Rejuvenation
Physicians Aesthetics has many options to help you achieve your facial rejuvenation goals. Our facility is equipped to offer laser resurfacing, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, neuromodulators (such as Botox®, Xeomin®, and Dysport®) and soft tissue augmentation (fat transfer or injectables). Many times the combination of these elements provides the best outcome. One of our board-certified physicians will examine your skin to advise the best options to achieve YOUR long-term goals. Here are some questions that you might be asking:
What type of lasers are best for my skin?
There are many types of lasers in the marketplace. The more popular ones for skin rejuvenation are the ones that change the texture of the skin, and stimulate the lower layers containing collagen and other important elements.
In our office, we offer over 15 lasers. The laser resurfacing devices include the erbium-yag laser, the neodymium-yag laser, the radio-frequency laser, and the intense pulsed light laser. Lasers are unique devices that when placed in properly trained hands, can work magic on the skin. Recovery time varies from zero downtime, to a few days, up to a week. We will discuss everything to your satisfaction during your consultation prior to any treatments.
Often, we couple laser treatments with other treatments such as microdermabrasion and chemical peels for more optimal results in facial rejuvenation. Microdermabrasion involves using the Silk Peel device, which delivers hydration and other skin enhancing fluids to promote healthy new skin in the desired area. There is no downtime when using microdermabrasions. We have been rated the best in Atlanta for this service over and over again. Your skin care professional will also advise if a chemical peel would enhance your desired results.
Chemical peels involve applying very specific solutions to the skin in order to encourage your desired outcome. For instance, many patients struggle with acne lesions. Certain chemicals, such as salicylate acid, can improve the skin’s appearance, as well as prevent new breakouts. For simple facial rejuvenation, the alphahydroxy acids, such as glycolic acid, are a popular choice for most skin types. The medical board of Georgia considers chemical peels a medical procedure and therefore determines the location for all chemical peels to be a physician’s office.
Depending upon your unique skin type and desired goals, neuromodulators and soft tissue augmentation devices will elevate, position, and diminish those unwanted facial attributes, while enhancing attributes that may be diminishing due to the aging process.
Are there any side effects from the facial rejuvenation treatments?
Of course, in the wrong hands (unlikely here at Physicians Aesthetics) there is the risk of burning, scarring, pigmentation changes, virus outbreaks, infections from bacteria, and other uncommon adverse reactions while operating the laser devices. We are very proud of our track record of high patient satisfaction for the past 15 years. Dr. John Frodel and Dr. Debra Atkins perform most of the laser treatments and have been trained to ensure that the execution of the treatment is exact.
Side effects of chemical peels include temporary or permanent skin color changes, scarring, and the unlikely event of a virus or bacterial outbreak. Our team is highly trained to ensure that all chemicals placed on the skin are the right type for you. Once again, we are very proud of our track record of 15 years in this industry and our high patient satisfaction rate. Dr. Debra Atkins performs the more aggressive treatments and serve as a trainer for Physicians Aesthetics Academy to ensure our industry remains safe.
Which procedure has little to no negative side effects?
The microdermabrasion by Silk Peel, given by our highly trained skin care professionals, has little to no side effects. Many laser devices have no downtime as well. We will cover all of this in detail during your consultation.
What can I expect after the facial rejuvenation procedure(s)?
Healing time varies depending on the laser or treatment. There is a possibility of no downtime, a long weekend of recovery, or up to a week of redness. We discuss all possible outcomes in detail during your consultation to make sure there are no surprises. Any treatment will revolve around your schedule and your desired outcomes.
We look forward to serving you and helping you enjoy your flawless skin and body treatments soon.
